| Today's souvenier from school? A picture, as described by its illustrator (this is what I overheard him tell the girl who sits next to him), "This is Ms. Taylor, about to get run over by a bus." Not so much the best day of school. First year teacher + New Orleans + 3 months into the school year = a very exhausted teacher, absolutely counting down the days until Thanksgiving break. 5 more days with kids, in case you were wondering. I do love my children, just for the record. Just not so much today... | | |
| A month in my life: 1. Been to California twice for weddings... fabulous friends, beautiful weddings, wonderful weather. 2. Ran/walked the last mile to the airport for that second California trip... 3. Started teaching second grade and become responsible for the educations of 23 7 & 8 year-olds 4. Had a few mini-nervous break-downs, screamed at my kids and in the same breath told them I loved them 5. Oh, yeah, and then this hurricane named Gustav came around and my whole city evacuated... since I was already out in San Fran, I just flew to VA to spend some time with family and friends because the city was closed down and school was canceled for a week. ...oh, my life... | | |
| My life: 1. Back in New Orleans after an absolutely amazing summer in Colorado. So happy to be back home, but it is hot as blazes here. 2. I'm a second grade teacher! And my students come August 11th... wonderful and terrifying, all at the same time. 3. I have a new place with two close friends as roommates. Our house is beautiful and I love it! 4. California this weekend! Ken and Mel, two of my teammates my first year, are getting married. Hurray! ...and that's my life in a nutshell. | | |
| Wow. I have been a slacker of a xanga-er. My life in short order: 1. Living it up in Colorado this summer, staffing a summer project. Absolutely loving it- the mountains, the friends, the Lord. 2. Still hoping to teach in New Orleans this fall, but no job yet. I have an interview next week- please pray for me! 3. I miss my best friend. She's currently overseas staffing a project and we can't talk for six weeks. So sad. But I got an international phone card and I'm trying it tonight- let's hope it works! 4. Missing New Orleans and Richmond for sure... love those friends! 5. Been hardcore reminiscing about MBSP'04 since I've been here. I love y'all and I talk nonstop about our project. 6. I get to see Danielle Barragree tomorrow- hurray for CO! LOVE! | | |
| 1. Headed home to Richmond on Thursday! I'll be there until May 20th, then I'll be in Kansas until the 23rd, then off to Colorado for 6 weeks! Back in NOLA mid-July. 2. Still looking for a teaching job. 3. No longer dating anyone, but definitely feeling good about that. No regrets about any of it, just thankful for it all. 4. Periodically freaking out about the transition in my life... but for the most part, pretty happy. 5. Love! To you all :) | | |
